Privacy Policy

Effective November 1, 2011

This Privacy Policy covers Incoming Media's treatment of personal information that Incoming collects when you are on the Incoming website ("the Site") and when you use the Incoming services (“the Services”).

The really big picture:

Your privacy is protected when you use the Incoming Services. Like a knowledgeable expert who gets to know you better over time, Incoming provides increasingly accurate recommendations to you the more you interact with our Services and the more our Services learn about the environment observable by your mobile devices. We strive to do much of the learning on your mobile device, so that most of the information we collect will never leave your phone. However, to improve the service and learn how well we are doing, we may need to download some of the collected information to our servers.

The information we collect:

We collect your email address, IP address, unique identifiers on external social networks such as Facebook and Twitter, age, gender, location, timezone, browser user agent, unique identifiers of videos recommended to you via external sources such as Facebook and Twitter, timestamps of session usage, identifiers of videos that have been watched, identifiers of videos that have been shared by you to Facebook, Twitter or by email, the duration for which videos have been watched, network connectivity status during the streaming of videos, timestamps of user interactions with video content such as forward or backward seeking, pausing, starting, and volume change, and user ratings of how much a watched item of content was liked (from 1 to 5 stars).

For the native Android application, we also collect Wi-Fi SSID and connectivity status, cell station ID, battery level and recharge status, calendar information, and low resolution non-GPS location.

How Your Personal Information Is Used:

We ask for your email address and a password when you create your account in order to control access to it.

When you create an Incoming account using an external application such as Facebook or Twitter, or when you connect your Incoming account to external applications, Incoming may access data from those applications. Examples would be the videos that your friends are talking about on those services. A data disclosure page will be shown in these cases and you can decide whether to proceed or not.

Sharing of Personal Information by Incoming

Spam stinks. So we do not use your email address or other personally identifiable information to send commercial or marketing messages without your consent. We may, however, use your email address without further consent for infrequent critical non-marketing or administrative purposes.

We may share with third parties certain pieces of aggregated, non-personal information such as the average time spent watching videos per user. Such information does not identify you individually.

We may employ other companies and people to perform tasks on our behalf and sometimes need to share your information with them to provide products or services to you. Examples include analyzing data, providing marketing assistance, and providing customer service..

Additionally, we may disclose your personal information after notifying you and obtaining your consent.

Reviewing, Updating or Deleting Your Personal Information

You can visit your account Feeds page at any time to update or correct your personal profile information, photo, or email date or delete the connections between your Incoming account and your accounts on external services such as Facebook or Twitter.

To delete your account completely, please send a request to [email protected] or send us a letter to the address listed below.

Confidentiality and Security

Your Incoming account information is protected by a password for your privacy and security. You need to work to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer by signing off once you have finished using a shared computer.

Only employees or agents who need personal information to perform a specific job (for example, developers testing new algorithms) are granted access to it. All of our employees and agents are kept up to date on our privacy and security practices.

Though we make every effort to preserve your privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law, if we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process, enforce or apply our Terms of Service and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of Incoming, our employees, our users, or others.

Children

The Incoming Site is not directed at individuals under thirteen years of age, and we do not intend to collect any personally-identifiable information from such individuals.

Your Acceptance of These Terms

By using the Incoming Site and Services, you signify your assent to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Site & Services. Your continued use of the Site & Services following the posting of changes to these terms will mean you accept those changes.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this policy at any time by simply posting such addition or modification on the Site. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner materially different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email or via a prominent notice on our Site.
